Do you ever go into a store, knowing that you need to find this one peice of clothing... but come out with everything BUT what you needed? Time after time I'll go into a store willing to shop but nothing fits right. The time that I don't need to spend money on clothes is the time that I find so many things!
It's so aggravating.
Society puts many ideas into female's minds that it makes shopping so difficult sometimes...
You have to wear this
Don't show too much, you'll look desperate
To fit in, you need to wear this
Don't wear too much makeup, but cover up your blemishes
Clothes, makeup or anything that you change or do... is a way to express yourself. It's what completes you. Having constant reminders of what NOT to do, can truly bring a person, especially a woman, down.
It's scary
We all know that companies try to accommodate for all, but at the same time we feel judged. If we know what it's like now... I can't imagine what it will be like later down the road.
Today, us women, need to stick together. I see so many (especially younger girls) who get basically bullied by what they wear or even how they look. In an earlier blog I mentioned this time I witnessed the little girl I nannied get looked down by her friend because she wasn't wearing a bra.
If little girls are doing this at 7 years old... what will they do or be like in their 20s?
Today, I just wanted to raise awareness. I wanted to tell you, that you are beautiful. God created each of you the way that you are for a reason.
No one should look down on themselves or change the way that they are to fit in.
If people want to change you, they don't deserve you. Plain and simple.
With that...
"There is nothing more rare, nor more beautiful, than a woman being unapologetically herself; comfortable in her perfect imperfection. To me, that is the true essence of beauty." ~Steve Maraboli
