I can guarantee that you have heard this at least once in your lifetime.
"Things happen for a reason"
I have sat here, for many hours (literally), trying to get that saying straight. What does it TRULY mean? Why is it said only when something has "negatively" affected your life? And how do we know what good comes out of it?
I look back and realize that, this is what faith is. To put all trust into Him, and to have all the faith to do so.
In John 13:7, it says:
Jesus answered him, “What I am doing you do not understand now, but afterward you will understand.”
This is something I have struggled with for awhile now... understanding, excepting and having the faith to.
About a year ago, I was placed into a situation. A situation that could have easily been avoided if I had just changed one thing about that day. Just one. Why me? Why did I have to experience that? What good came out of it? Anxiety? How is that good?
Looking back to that specific situation, I wouldn't be where I am today. I wouldn't have the courage to be writing to you guys. I wouldn't be able to share, to help and to understand.
Being able to see the positive in a situation, that has affected you, can make all the difference. You may not understand why it happened or what good can come out of it, at this specific moment... but that is what faith is. You must have the faith to believe that He has it under control.
Look back at a situation, a situation that you can't believe happened to you, and see what came out of it. I can promise, that no matter what it might be, you are stronger.
